Exploring the power and limitations of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data for comparative genomics analysis of Hummingbirds 

The choices you make during data processing can have a great impact in downstream data analyses. Rute R. da Fonseca, Assistant Professor at the Center for Macroecology, Evolution and Climate, University of Copenhagen have used Computerome to explore a dataset composed of 2750 genes, from 48 species of hummingbirds. The goal was to assess the impact of different bioinformatic choices on both the extent of information that can be recovered from the sequence data, and the potential biases in the biological interpretation of the results produced using the different approaches.
